Otto Werdmüller’sche Familienstiftung
In 1712 Major General Hans Felix Werdmüller acquired Elgg Castle. Three years later, in 1715, he
drew up his will, bequeathing the castle to his family as an entailed estate, i.e., a family estate in
perpetuity.
For almost 300 years now members of the Werdmüller family have been devoting themselves to the
maintenance and care of the castle and its outbuildings. In addition to taking a lot of time, this requires
diligence, love for detail, respect for historical heritage and, not least, substantial funds.
The Otto Werdmüller’sche Familienstiftung is dependent on the support of its members both at home and abroad.
Please help and make a contribution toward the maintenance of Elgg Castle.
Thank you!
